Clarksburg

Located beyond Germantown, Clarksburg marks the intersection of the main road between Georgetown, Frederick and an old Seneca trail. The community takes its name from John Clarke, a prominent Native American Trader from the early 1700s, and has a rich history. The town hosted General Braddock's army during the French and Indian War and played an integral role in the American Revolution by serving as a meeting place for the Sons of Liberty.
